The Clock Work Shop, Winchester, was established in 1996 and is now run by Kevin Hurd and Richard Scorey.
Kevin came to antique clocks having served an apprenticeship as a helicopter engineer, and has a love of all thing horological, but especially antique British longcase/grandfather clocks and lantern clocks.
In July 1998, Richard Scorey joined the business. Richard also had an engineering background before he completed the three year British Horological Institute examinations in technical horology, where he gained graduate status. In 2009 Richard was accepted as a Professional Member of the British Horological Institute.
In 2012 The Clock Work Shop was delighted to welcome Alice Taylor to the team. Alice joined as an apprentice, and gained some valuable practical experience before going on to Birmingham University where she is presently studying for a BA in horology.
In 2015 the Clock Work Shop was very fortunate to welcome Simon Kerby. Simon has extensive experience working on the highest quality clocks by the likes of Thomas Tompion, Joseph Knibb and Breguet, and has been in the business for over 28 years as a restorer as well as dealing in fine quality antique clocks.
